Áine Bannon
Áine graduated from the University of Limerick in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science (Education) in Physical Education and Irish. She has been teaching these subjects at Junior and Senior Cycle since and shows strong awareness of the essential qualities needed to produce top marks.
Áine brings a deep passion for the Irish language to her teaching, shaped by her extensive experience in the Gaeltacht. Her expertise brings authenticity and energy to every lesson, inspiring students to build confidence in speaking Irish and to develop a genuine love for the language.

What will be Covered
This intensive 3-day course focuses on both the written and listening elements from HL Irish. This includes tips and tricks to master these areas along with looking at specific topics, poetry and stories in detail. During this 4 hour revision course students will build necessary skills to get the top marks at higher level Irish, from mastering listening vocabulary and questions to essay writing and answers for poetry, a short story and novel.
Day 1:
Listening: This is where a lot of students fall down on marks. We will study common vocabulary and question words that occur in the dreaded listening element of the exam. Tips and tricks to improve students' marks will be provided.
Essay: Clear guidance on approaching and structuring the long written pieces that appear on the JC paper. Specific topics and sample answers will also be looked at in detail.
Day 2:
Poetry: Stadeolaíocht will be looked at in detail. A summary and notes will be provided on the poem and sample answers to past exam questions.
Gearrscéal: Katfish will be studied in detail, looking at main characters, the highpoint and the theme. A summary and notes will be provided on these along with sample answers to past exam questions.
Day 3:
Novel: Cúpla will be studied in depth, looking at characters, the highpoint of the story, the theme and how the reader felt about the novel. Chapter summaries, notes and sample answers will be provided on these along with sample answers to past exam questions.
